Connecticut People’s Survival Programs (CT-PSP) is a grassroots organization building systems of care, power, and resistance across Connecticut. We believe that communities can meet their own needs—and build collective power—outside of the institutions that have historically caused us harm.
Grounded in racial and economic justice, we develop and sustain community-led alternatives to punishment, surveillance, and neglect. Through education, community support and inside/outside organizing, CT-PSP shifts power to those most directly impacted by incarceration, poverty, and systemic oppression.
We envision a Connecticut where all communities have what they need to live with dignity—without relying on punishment, prisons, or policing. A place where harm is met with healing, need is met with care, and injustice is met with organized resistance.
CT-PSP was founded by working class organizers who knew that survival was only the beginning—we deserve to thrive. Our name draws inspiration from the original Survival Programs of the Black Panther Party, which provided community care through free breakfast, health clinics, and mutual aid rooted in political education and radical solidarity. We carry that legacy forward by building grassroots power and organizing toward a future free from cages and full of possibility.
Whether you are returning home from prison, a student, a neighbor, or an ally—there is a place for you in this work.
Survival is the floor. Liberation is the goal.
